Kay Carter is the Executive Director of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, Prior to joining the food bank, she was the Director of Social Services for York County, SC. She received a BA in Political Science from Winthrop University and a MS in Public Administration from The University of South Carolina.
When asked the one word that best described her, Kay responded, "Compassion." I am motivated by the desire to help someone everyday. My favorite quote is "Never doubt that a small group of citizens can change the world." Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Some of Kay' stress relievers are shopping, antiquing and working on home improvement projects. She is also a good friend to animals and helps raise funds for the Humane Society. Her two cats Jett and Cash are both rescues.
