Hunger Education and Advocacy

Hunger Education and AdvocacyOne of the most important jobs of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is to educate our service region about the causes of and solutions to the problem of hunger.  The Food Bank offers educational tours, sends speakers to faith-based organizations, schools and businesses and provides information through written materials and our web site.

In addition, the Food Bank works with our elected officials to advocate for public policy changes that will help prevent hunger and poverty.

For more information on educational tours, speakers and collateral materials, contact Shay Merritt at (704) 375-9639, ext. #29 or via email at  smerritt@secondharvest.org.
